Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the selection process take?

After submitting your proposal in our portal, we will reply to you within three weeks informing you if your proposal is shortlisted for Pitch Day. On average, proposals approved at Pitch Day will be assessed by LAB7 over a period of four to six weeks. If accepted, applicants will work with our experts over four to 12 weeks during the validation stage to submit the proposal for incubation evaluation. If a project is accepted for incubation, entrepreneurs set off to their incubation journey at LAB7, which could take up to two years depending on your project requirements. The total duration to incubation can take between three to five months.

Does the candidate applying have to be working full time on the proposal?

The candidate is not expected to immediately transition to working on the project full time upon applying to LAB7. The LAB7 team will assess a candidate’s “need to be present” based on the stage of the proposal and the wider incubation plan. Once incubated, the founders will be expected to commit to LAB7 on an agreed-upon capacity.

Does the startup or team have to be based in Saudi Arabia?

LAB7 welcomes proposals from around the world. The team, or members of the team, would be required to work alongside LAB7 on site in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia during the incubation period based on an agreed-upon capacity.

Do I have to have a company registration at the time of application?

LAB7 does not require candidates to have an active commercial registration (CR) at time of application. However, upon acceptance onto the program, candidates should ensure that they can obtain a CR certificate.
